My bio

I have been in the computer and high tech industry for three decades now. I think it relates back to my passion since I was a child, for innovation and technology. Even in junior high school, while other kids where doing their paper routes, I was designing, building and selling high end speaker systems. My 17 year-old business partner at the time was in charge of building the enclosure cabinets for them, while I designed and built the electronics. Years later in the early eighties after graduating, I ended up writing custom business software and owned three computer stores in Vancouver. Meanwhile, my friend had created a business on the island building high end kitchen cabinets. It seems like you will keep doing what you like doing.

I have been self employed for most of my life in the computer industry. I graduated from BCIT as a Computer System Analyst in 1980 and have taken many certificate programs with Microsoft and other affiliates to sustain my knowledge with changes in technology. Being in the information technology all these years gave me the opportunity to design and program well over 40 custom software packages for businesses in the lower mainland, build and sold over 10,000 computers, designed and setup over 50 networks and captured and removed thousands of viruses from various systems. After three decades, I still enjoy finding new and innovative ways to manipulate computers to create entertainment or productive solutions.

My passions lie in creative, innovative endeavors. I enjoy music and play lead guitar in a band. I also tremendously enjoy the process of creativity, where you come up with an idea, a spark that ignites you and propels you to start writing it down, and designing a plan and executing it. I have been fortunate in my life to have experienced these "alive", exhilarating moments that have started many projects which have shaped my path in life.

I spent most of my adult life in British Columbia and my home base is Mission where my family and I reside. Although I was born in Alexandria Egypt, I have been in Canada since I was six years old and consider it my home. I came from a religiously diverse family which gave me the opportunity to study in-depth and participate through a spiritual journey into all the major six religions. This insight has given me a lot of inspiration, hope for humanity, and respect for people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
